Boxset is a TV tracker for iPhone, iPad and Android, made by Haatch Ventures LLP.
The short version: your show library stays on your device unless you ask it to follow you. An account is optional. With one, a copy of your library is backed up so it can move between your devices. We also collect anonymous usage statistics so we can see which features people actually use. There is no advertising, and nothing is ever sold.
The short version: your show library never leaves your device. We collect anonymous usage statistics so we can see which features people actually use. There is no account, no advertising, and nothing is ever sold.
Without an account, that is the whole story: nothing leaves your phone. If you sign in, a copy is backed up so it follows you between devices, which is the next section.
Everything you type or choose in Boxset is stored only on your device:
None of this is uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no account and no cloud sync, so we have no way to read your library. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. You can also erase everything at any time from Settings, using "Clear library".
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, Boxset keeps a copy of your library with Supabase, our database provider, so it can be backed up and shown on your other devices. That copy contains:
- Your email address
- Your name, if you add one
- An account id
- Your library: the shows you track, their platform, your progress, and which shelf each one is on
The copy is stored so it can be shown back to you. It is not read for any other purpose, and it never appears in the usage statistics.
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Apple and Google just confirm who you are and pass us your name and email. If you use a password, it is handled entirely by the sign-in service and Boxset never sees it. Your rows are protected so that only your account can read them.
Deleting your account. Settings has a Delete account button. It erases your account, your email, your name and the backed-up library from our servers. The copy on your phone stays unless you ask it to go too. When you delete a show, it is marked for deletion first and fully removed after 90 days, which is how the deletion reaches your other devices.
We use Mixpanel to count how the app is used. This is anonymous and is not linked to your identity.
